Getting solar PV panels installed with Moy Solar is designed to be straightforward and hassle-free for you. We handle the complex parts, ensuring that each step from the initial contact to the final handover is clear and efficiently managed. Throughout each step our aim is have clear and transparent communication with you so you always know what to expect and when.

The process, from start to finish

Step 1: Get in touch

Fill in our enquiry here to let us know you’d like to book a free consultation and one of our team will be in touch to schedule a mutually convenient time for one of our solar consultants to call out to your home.

Step 2: We complete a free site survey and do a bespoke system design to suit your needs

One of our solar consultants will visit you to conduct a non-committal free site survey, which takes 1 hour. They will be assessing your property for things like roof orientation, roof size, energy consumption, location of fuse box etc. so that we can create a bespoke system design that is optimised to suit your specific needs. Our team uses specialist solar design software to get exactly the right solution for you and your home, bespoke to your home.

Tip: Have a few months of electricity bills to hand as it is a key component for designing the right system for your energy needs.

Step 3: System Design & Quotation follow Up

We will send you a follow-up email with a bespoke package tailored to your property that includes:

  • Proposed system/product configuration
  • Price
  • Data on projected payback time, potential savings etc. based on your energy needs and system design
  • Next steps

Note: The quotation follow-up and system design will be sent to you via email after the site visit. This will allow you time to review the information at your own pace, so you are comfortable you can make an informed decision.

Step 4: Proposal Accepted

Our team will answer any questions you have around the proposal to ensure that you can make an informed decision. If you are happy to go ahead, you’ll let us know and we will move ahead with the next steps.

Step 5: Kick of SEAI application

You can review your eligibility for the SEAI grant and calculate how much by heading over to our SEAI page. If you are eligible, it is at this point that we will initiate the application process with you. Our team goes through this process with customers regularly and we will guide you every step of the way.

Step 6: Installation scheduling

Once you have confirmed you are happy to go ahead and the SEAI grant has been approved, our team will be in touch to schedule a mutually convenient time for our installers to call out and carry out the installation.

Step 7: Installation & handover

Our installation team will carry out the installation on the agreed dates and get you setup on your system’s App so you can manage and monitor your energy generation and usage.

Step 8: SEAI Grant Assistance

We submit statement of works on the SEAI portal to make sure you receive your grant payment.Moy Solar will upload all relevant documents to the SEAI portal so that you can receive your grant in good time.

Step 9: Visit from BER Assessor

In order to have your home’s energy rating re-assessed, you will need to arrange a visit from a BER Assessor. Moy Solar cannot carry out this assessment, but we can recommend a local assessor. You can also visit the SEAI website to find a BER assessor.

Step 10: Start Saving

Your system will be up and running as soon as the install is complete, so you will be saving on your bills and doing your bit for the environment!

Step 11: Refer a friend

Installation must be completed in full (inclusive of full payment) to receive or apply (both parties) for a referral payment. Only the referrer will receive a refer-a-friend reward. There is a referral box on our contact forms, be sure to tell your friend to enter the email address we have on file for you when they are reaching out to us. We must be notified of the referral upon first contact from the friend you are referring, whether it be on the contact form (by including the referee's email address in the referral field) or over phone/email. The refer a friend programme cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers or discounts.

A few of our commonly asked questions

There is nothing to prepare ahead of the installation, aside from letting us know when is a mutually convenient day to carry out the work and on the day our electricians will need access to your home to wire the system in.

The short answer is no, houses and businesses (including farms) don’t require planning permission to fit solar panels in most cases. You can find more details on this here.

Solar energy systems increase the value of a home as well as improving the BER rating.

One of our solar consultants will visit you to conduct a non-committal free site survey, which takes approximately 1 hour. They will be assessing your property for things like roof orientation, roof size, energy consumption, location of fuse box etc. so that we can create a bespoke system design that is optimised to suit your specific needs.

To help us with the survey, it would be very helpful to have 12 months of your most recent electricity bills to hand for the visit

If you are happy with your new system, you can refer as many friends as you want. All they need to do is let us know who referred them (they will use your email address that we have on file for you) when they first make contact with us and once their system has been installed and paid for, we will send you €200 (you can receive €200 for every installation that you refer).
